Phillips Foods and Seafood Restaurants is the leading integrated global producer, supplier and retailer of a high quality, safe and consistent family of brands of seafood and cuisine to consumers and corporations throughout the world.
The Challenge:
Create a portal, and complete content management system for Phillips' suite of web sites and on-line services.
The Solution:
The PhillipsFoods Internet solution consisted of the following combination of Whirlwind's products, standard services and customized services.
The following customized services where provided to PhillipsFoods.com:
- Custom Portal
Whirlwind developed a central portal for web site visitors to access Phillips many on-line services. Phillips unique web sites for Grocery Customers, Foodservice Customers, Seafood Restaurants, Seafood Online-ordering and more, are all accessible via the portal.
- Product Management and Integration
Whirlwind provided a content management system for Phillips products that integrates seamlessly with their master product database. This product database serves as their central repository of all product and marketing data used for development of marketing information, distribution management and more. This integration eliminated the need to enter redundant product information into two disparate systems.
- Distribution Management and Integration
The web site content management system also integrates with the Phillips central distributor management system. These distributors, which are directly related to product availability for both retail and foodservice buyers, are available for web site visitors to peruse and access.
- Recipe Center
The recipe center allows site visitors to find recipes that use Phillips Foods products. In addition, web site visitors can submit recipes on-line that are approved, modified and posted by Phillips web site administrators.
